  After analyzing the lyrics we designed a narrative which aligns with the lyrics. The mv showcases the story a guy who is in love with a girl but went though a break up. The girl broke up with him due to some tenseness in the relationship. The girl ends up moving on however, the guy is still in love with her. He is seen reminiscing his time with the girl and is shown revisiting places where he spent time with the girl. Furthermore, we are planning to show their relationship memories through flashbacks supported by brighter colors in the mise en scene and  a high exposure, and then when he is shown alone he is shown in lower exposure and duller atmosphere. This sets the overall mood for every scene and defines it.

 

 Our main location for the  music vedio shoot is a public family park known as Japanese Garden. It doesn't have any shooting prohibitions either so it will be more convenient. Furthermore, it is also quite safe as their are always families around. The only risk we may have while shooting is bad weather so we will check weather forecast before finalizing our shooting dates.  This is the perfect location for our music video as it gives off the romantic and soft mood that we want to show in our MV. This meeting was one which I could not attend due to the fact that I was out of city however, I was informed about everything through texts. In this meeting my team members discussed how to spotlessly fit in our chosen location into our music video aesthetic. A lot of shot ideas and scene ideas which were to be added to the lyrics and rhythms mood were discussed and everyone shred their opinions.

 The aim of this practical activity was to learn to do different transitions such as left to right and up to down and more different ones. This I again did with my good friend and media classmate, Myra. This took us a while to do as we kept messing up and we had to reshoot a few times. Plus we had to shoot 4 different transitions. I shot and edited whereas Myra was the one who acted.

 Fool by Cavetown Storyline: A protagonist who feels like a “fool” in a (romantic one-sided) situation penchant for romantic idealism  Visual Metaphors: Emotions & themes of the song. E.g.:  one-way street, It illustrates the idea that love is moving in one direction, with one person putting in all the effort and receiving nothing in return. A fading flower, a flower wilting and losing its petals while waiting for the sun's warmth that never comes. This image conveys the idea of love slowly withering away due to lack of reciprocation. A broken mirror, one side reflecting the person's love, while the other side remains fractured and incapable of reflecting back. This illustrates the idea that one person's love remains unacknowledged or unreturned.  I formally emailed the manager of Cave town to ask permission or to at least inform them about the fact that me and my groupmates are using their product for our project as a form of legality and to avoid any problems in the future.
